_________________ In Brock I still trust.

The 49ers have signed receiver Bryan Gilmore, who caught five passes last season with Miami.
Gilmore is no stranger to 49ers receiver coach Jerry Sullivan, who helped Gilmore land a spot on the practice squad as an undrafted free agent with the Arizona Cardinals in 2000. Gilmore got limited action with the Cardinals in 2000 and '01, and then spent two more seasons with Arizona before being released.
Sullivan moved to the Dolphins in 2004, and Gilmore followed.
"He is a big, strong receiver with speed who plays physical," coach Mike Nolan said.
The 49ers also expect to have Redskins cornerback

_________________ In Brock I still trust.

- 49ers Add Help in the Secondary with Harris
Wednesday, March 15, 2006 The San Francisco 49ers announced Wednesday that CB Walt Harris has been signed as an unrestricted free agent. Terms of the contract were not announced by the team.
Harris (5-11, 190) is a ten-year NFL veteran who has played with the Chicago Bears (1996-01), Indianapolis Colts (2002-03) and the Washington Redskins. He was originally drafted by Chicago in the first round of the 1996 draft out of Mississippi State.
Harris has started in 127 of 147 games in his career. He has accumulated 690 total tackles, 20 interceptions, 14 forced fumbles and 10 fumble recoveries. Harris immediately stepped into the starting cornerback role as a rookie in Chicago in 1996. He was a starter for both seasons with Indianapolis, before joining the Redskins as a key backup and special teams player in 2004. Harris started 12 of 13 games at left cornerback last season and finished the year with 68 total tackles, one interception and one forced fumble. - What about Julian?
By Roger Phillips, STAFF WRITER Former Washington Redskins cornerback Walt Harris has become the third free agent in as many days to sign with the San Francisco 49ers, but it remains unclear whether they will be able to retain linebacker Julian Peterson, the most significant of their own unsigned players. The 27-year-old Peterson is scheduled to travel to Seattle today to visit the NFC champion Seahawks, agent Kevin Poston said by phone Wednesday.
As for the 49ers, Poston did little either to validate or dampen the guarded optimism expressed earlier this week by coach Mike Nolan that Peterson might return to the only team for whom he has played in his six NFL seasons.
Asked if there was reason for Nolan to be optimistic, Poston said, "I don't know if they have a reason to be or not to be at this point. The fact that he's very seriously considering a number of teams ... I don't know. That's something they control. They control their optimism or depression. Is it a possibility? Sure."
Poston declined to say what teams besides the 49ers and Seahawks are interested in Peterson, who was the 49ers' franchise player in 2004 and 2005. Peterson spent 2005 struggling to regain his form after a torn Achilles' tendon curtailed his 2004 season. The 49ers opted not to use the franchise tag on Peterson this year; had they done so, they would have been on the hook for a one-year contract at close to $9 million.
Nolan has said since the end of the 2005 season that he would like Peterson back, but the presumption has been that Peterson's price would be too high. During a KNBR radio interview Wednesday morning, Nolan also expressed some mild concern about dealing with Poston, who has a reputation for drawing a hard bargain.
But since free agency began Friday night, Peterson's name had hardly come up until now. Poston insisted Wednesday there is plenty of interest in Peterson. Asked if demand is softer than expected, he said, "The market really hasn't determined itself for Julian yet."
Poston did say he had spoken with 49ers negotiator Paraag Marathe as recently as Wednesday morning. Asked about an offer from the 49ers, Poston said, "I'm not going to get into numbers or anything like that."
How soon might Peterson sign, either with the 49ers or elsewhere?
"I don't know how long it will take," Poston said. "It could be tomorrow. I really don't know." _________________ In Brock I still trust.

(March 20, 2006) -- One of the busiest teams of the offseason struck again when the Seattle Seahawks reached agreement with former San Francisco linebacker Julian Peterson on a blockbuster seven-year, $54 million deal.

Tant pis. _________________ In Brock I still trust.

| l'histoire : - Citation :
Seahawks set to sign 49ers linebacker PetersonDEAL WITH WEST FOE REPORTEDLY WORTH UP TO $55 MILLIONBy Daniel BrownMercury NewsJulian Peterson, the 49ers' two-time Pro Bowl linebacker, appears headed to the Seattle Seahawks. Multiple Web sites reported Monday night that the former first-round draft pick had reached an agreement with the reigning NFC champions. ESPN.com reported that the Seahawks would pay as much as $55 million over seven seasons, a deal that would include $18.5 million in bonus money. Seattle was in a position to splurge after earlier in the day failing to match a $49 million offer sheet for All-Pro guard Steve Hutchinson, who heads for the Minnesota Vikings. If Peterson's departure becomes official, it would hardly rank as a surprise -- although the 49ers would have preferred to see him out of the NFC West. Coach Mike Nolan said this month that the 49ers wanted to retain Peterson's services but understood that the rangy, versatile linebacker would draw interest as an unrestricted free agent. Aaron Salkin, a 49ers spokesman, declined to confirm Peterson's exit Monday night, saying only that the team was aware of talks between Seahawks officials and Peterson's agent, Kevin Poston. Peterson, 27, made the All-Pro team in 2003 and seemed on the verge of elite status before suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon early in 2004. He played well last season, with 87 tackles and three sacks, but lacked the quickness and ferocity he demonstrated before the injury. The Seahawks are banking that Peterson is fully recovered, as they won a bidding war that included strong interest from the Miami Dolphins. NFL.com reported that Seattle's deal for Peterson includes $10 million guaranteed for this season. It is part of a busy off-season for the Seahawks, who have also lavished contracts on running back Shaun Alexander (eight years, $62 million) and defensive tackle Rocky Bernard (one year, $656,000). Seattle will now turn its attention to defensive end John Abraham; the Seahawks have exclusive negotiating rights for the three-time Pro Bowl selection as the result of a trade with the New York Jets. The 49ers, meanwhile, will have new faces in Nolan's 3-4 defensive alignment because two of the four starting linebackers from last season have changed uniforms: Peterson's likely exit follows that of Andre Carter, who signed this month with the Washington Redskins. The 49ers did re-sign three other linebackers: Derek Smith, Jeff Ulbrich and Brandon Moore. Moore, who started 10 games in place of the injured Ulbrich last season, is capable of playing Peterson's position at left-outside linebacker. Moore is a solid tackler and run defender who also showed flashes coming off the edge on passing downs. The 49ers' final free-agent linebacker, Saleem Rasheed, remains unsigned.

| About f***ing time!
_________________ In Brock I still trust.

| alors larry allen.
