Sinon, ces deux gars ne sont pas spécialement connus pour savoir gérer les grosses personnalités. Même si Moss ne reste pas, c'est pas gagné pour eux.

The Broncos defeated the Raiders 13-3 at INVESCO Field at Mile High in 2006. The teams have meet twice in the playoffs, with each team winning one game.


The Raiders and the Packers last met in 2003 in Oakland. The Raiders lead the series 5-4. In 2007, the Raiders travel to Green Bay for the first time since 1999. The Raiders first met the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl II.


The Vikings were defeated by the Raiders in 2003, 28-18 at McAfee Coliseum. The Raiders lead the overall series 8-2 and make their first trip to Minnesota since 1999. The Raiders first met the Vikings in 1973.

Taver Johnson joins The Oakland Raiders as assistant defensive line coach. Johnson spent the past two seasons as assistant head coach and defensive coordinator at Miami University (OH).
"I was very impressed with Taver's experience as a defensive coordinator," said Raiders Head Coach Lane Kiffin. "That overall knowledge along with his enthusiasm and passion for the game will be an asset for us with the Raiders."
In 2004, Johnson was special teams assistant for the Cleveland Browns. Johnson also served minority intern fellowships with the Browns in 2002 and Detroit Lions in 2003.

Raiders Sign Newberry, Restructure Jordan's and Curry's Contracts

The Oakland Raiders have signed two-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman Jeremy Newberry. Newberry has started all 90 games in which he has played since entering the NFL as a second round pick by San Francisco in 1998.

"In researching and evaluating Jeremy's background and history, it became obvious that he is a perfect fit for the Raiders right now," said Raiders Head Coach Lane Kiffin. "He is an intense competitor and definitely understands what being a team player is all about."

Dominic Rhodes Joins Raiders

The Oakland Raiders have signed free agent running back Dominic Rhodes. Rhodes most recently rushed for 113 yards with a score in leading the Indianapolis Colts to a Super Bowl XLI win over Chicago last month.

“Dominic will be a dynamic presence that can diversify our offense both as a runner and pass catcher. He is focused and determined to come here and compete immediately with our other running backs,” said Raiders Head Coach Lane Kiffin.

“The two factors that all of our players need to have in common is, they must be great competitors and understand a team philosophy. From our research and conversations with Dominic it was very evident that he is about both of these and we're excited to have him.”

Raiders RB Rhodes suspended for 4 games

Oakland Raiders running back Dominic Rhodes was suspended Tuesday for the first four games of the season for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

The league does not disclose reasons for substance abuse suspensions, but Rhodes pleaded guilty in the offseason to reckless driving charges in Indiana after prosecutors agreed to drop drunken driving charges against him.

Rhodes, who spent his six years in Indianapolis, signed a two-year contract in the offseason with the Raiders that could be worth up to $7.5 million. He is expected to split time with last year's starter LaMont Jordan as the Raiders try to improve a running game that averaged 3.9 yards per carry in 2006.

Rhodes started all 16 regular-season games last season, rushing for 641 yards and five touchdowns. After backing up Edgerrin James since entering the league, Rhodes shared the job last season with rookie Joseph Addai. He has 2,274 yards rushing in his career.

Rhodes had one of his best performances in the Colts' Super Bowl win over the Chicago Bears, rushing for 113 yards in Indianapolis' 29-17 victory.

Rhodes will be able to participate in training camp and in all preseason games. His suspension will begin Aug. 31, the day after Oakland's final exhibition game, and he will be eligible to return Oct. 1, following the fourth game of the season against Miami. Rhodes will also miss games against Detroit, Denver and Cleveland.

Rhodes was pulled over by an Indiana state trooper in February for driving 81 mph in a 55-mph zone. He was originally charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit.

Rhodes pleaded guilty in March to reckless driving and was sentenced to 180 days in jail. But 178 were suspended and he received credit for two days.

In 2002, Rhodes was charged with domestic battery in connection with a disturbance at his home involving his child's mother, Latrina Moore. He avoided prosecution and was placed in a diversionary program and underwent mental health counseling.

Et les Raiders sont un peu spécialistes de recruter des MVP ou vainqueurs du SB pour les faire disparaitre aussitôt (hop tu me vois, hop tu me vois plus !)

Culpepper sur sont premier match avec les silver et black pas du tout convainquant, 2 fumbles et très aproximatif face à une equipe d'arizona mediocre.

Apres les caprices de Russel, la suspension pour les 4 premier match de saisons de RHodes, voilà que le head coatch est hospitalisé!!!

Ca sent de plus en plus la Ryan Leaf Signature cette affaire ! Non seulement il perd du temps pour apprendre la NFL et son équipe, mais plus il attend, plus il faudra qu'il soit bon après pour justifier son holdout et rattrapper le coup avec son staff et ses petits camarades.
D'autant que ça ne présente pas extraordinairement bien pour son attitude vis à vis de la fameuse tirade "esprit d'équipe, engagement, respect, sacrifice" et le reste...
En clair il a vraiment intérêt d'être le cousin du messie le petit sinon ça va chier... Ca sent le bust à plein nez (et le cramé, mais ça c'est ma cuisine)

Mais z'au fait j'y pense, peut être que l'épisode Russel durera suffisamment longtemps pour que Al Davis se décide à embaucher Vick à sa sortie de taule (d'ailleurs je suis étonné que Markus ne soit pas sur le roster des Raiders....). Vick a bien le profil d'aller enterrer encore plus sa carrière dans la Bay Area, et Davis est vraiment capable de le signer...

Nan mais en même temps c'est comme ça que les Raiders aiment leurs joueurs, alors le QB ça doit être un modèle dans le genre. Pour moi, malgré les années Gannon, le prototype du QB d'Oakland, c'est Jeff George: la tête brûlée au bras canon.

Grave. Ca m'énerve ces ptits jeunes qui sortent de la fac et qui veulent être payer un salaire exhorbitant alors qu'ils n'ont encore rien prouver à l'échellon supérieur ! (D'ailleurs on leur propose déjà des salaires énormes mais ça n'a jamais l'air d'être suffisant...)

J'avais lu sur TPF je crois, que finalement ca pouvait arrangé les affaires de Kiffin ce hold-out.

Du fait du retard de Russell a rejoindre l'équipe, ca donne une bonne excuse pour ne pas le lancer trop tôt et lui laisser le temps d'apprendre le jeu sur le banc, surtout avec Culpepper et McNown en QB.

Donc même s'il fait une mauvaise saison, et que Russell a pas joué, Kiffin aura sans doute une deuxième chance avec la possibilité d'envoyer Russell titulaire pour la 2è saison.

Mais c'est tant pis pour eux. Ils ne se rendent pas compte qu'ils font un mauvais calcul (surtout les QB). Le mec il cherche à grapiller quoi, 1 million de plus? Mais tout ce qu'il fait, c'est retarder sa préparation, gâcher sa première année, voire sa deuxième. Résultat: au moment de renégocier son contrat une fois qu'il aura tâté du terrain, il aura peut-être gagné un million sur son contrat rookie, mais il en perdra 10 sur son deuxième contrat, parce qu'il n'était pas prêt au moment de faire ses preuves et n'était pas assez bon pour toucher le méga jackpot.

et il trimballe une petite réputation de relou pète couille qui fait des hold out prolongés au lieu de bosser....
