EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (Feb. 23, 2006) -- The Minnesota Vikings named cornerback Brian Williams as their transition player, which prevents him from becoming an unrestricted free agent.

Minnesota Vikings have signed free agent CB Ronyell Whitaker, a 2-year NFL veteran who has spent his entire NFL career with Tampa Bay. Whitaker saw time in 4 games with a start in 2003 and spent 2004 on the Buccaneers' practice squad.

Les Vikings sont a plus de 20 M sous le cap avec les Cardinals et les Browns (Ca me fait tout drôle d'écrire le nom de mon équipe à côté de ces partenaires de loose ). Sachant que le staff a été remanié, il sera intérssant de voir comment tout cet argent sera utilisé. Les postes à pourvoir en urgences sont les OL, HB et LB.

Encore un Linebacker qui ne fera que gonfler le nombre de joueurs à ce poste. Bon, je vais pas vous dire que je connaissais pas ce Ben Leber (je pratique une superbe activité qui s'appelle la fantasy ligue, et je finis même premier parfois et même sans fantasy on pourrait le connaitre. Enfin bref, j m'égare là...) Mais apparemment, il entrerait dans le futur système défensif comme un légo...alors...

Franchement jsais vraiment pas si c est 1 bonne idee d engager se Leber meme si ils disent quil va tres bien dans le nouveau systeme defensif de minnesota. D ailleurs il a joue que 9 matchs et on a vu avec Cowart meme si il a pas si mal joue mais surtout avec Harris que c est pas 1 bonne idee! Faudrait que pour 1 fois les vikings inverstissent dans 1 bon LB au lieux comme chaque annee d acheter des joueurs blessés.

Pour bentley sa serait vraiment 1 bonne affaire de le choper! C est 1 excellent C et meme si il y a deja Birk, Bentley peut facilement s adapter a 1 autre position.

je savais pas que Mike Tomlin utiliserait pas la cover 2 made in Tampa ou au moin un dérivé proche???

parce que Mike Tomlin c' est l' école Dungy/Kiffin et Leber est presque a l' opposé d' etre un OLB typique du système défensif employé par Tampa!
pour une défense type celle des Bucs un Will Witherspoon en WLB ou un David Thornton pour le SLB serait bien plus en accord avec ce système qu' un Ben Leber!

Concernant Matt Birk, l'équipe s'assure de ne laisser aucune option s'envoler. L'avenir s'annonce donc incertain pour lui. Des discussions ont déjà été entreprises pour voir si sa hanche allait bien et pour ajuster son contrat. Ce serait dommage de laisser partir un centre de ce calibre. De Harvard en plus ! pffff ! Selon l'intéressé, il est a 100% physiquement J'espère que tout n'est pas déjà prévu et que Childress ne lorgne pas du côté de Hank Fraley des Eagles

Parfaitement, un RB au premier tour serait de la folie. Mais je pense qu'on a pas à s'insquiéter de ça.

Culpepper contre Bulger D'un point de vue personnel ç me plairait pas trop en fait. Je ne voudrais pas voir Bulger en vikings. Après, c'est sûr qu'il sait balancer et qu'il tient son rendement. Comme le disait Bryant McKinnie, après Moss, la deuxième pire erreur de cette franchise serait de virer Culpepper.
