A CB / S 'tweener who might not have a true position...An overachiever who gets the most out of his ability but isn't particularly big or fast...Will have a much more difficult time in coverage than he did in college...As a safety he won't be a great fit in coverage or in the box...Probably won't contribute as a return man in the pros.

Notes:
Special education major who is very active in the community...The type who won't impress you with his physical tools but just gets the job done between the lines and is a true football player...Underrated prospect whose grade will be affected by a lack of measurables but he will end up making teams regret passing on him.

Entre CB Lito Sheppard qui se blesse plusieurs matchs par, FS Brian Dawkins qui aura 34 ans, SS Michael Lewis qui est parti, Philadelphie a besoin d'un peu de monde en DB. Eric Weddle est un joueur polyvalent qui peut assurer les 2 postes de S et qui peut aussi jouer CB, il pourrait être en concurrence pour le poste de SS titulaire avec Sean Considine et donner une assurance en cas de blessures d'autres joueurs.

Strengths:
Has very good size with a solid frame and a vast wingspan...Excellent leaper with good body control and ball skills...Great natural athlete...Has big, strong hands...A long-strider who plays faster than he times...Is an excellent blocker...Physical and runs pretty well after the catch...Tough and is not afraid of contact...A force in the red zone who has made a lot of big plays during his career...A leader with solid intangibles...He has only touched the tip of the iceberg in terms of his potential.

Weaknesses:
Timed speed is only average at best and he is not overly quick...Has had a lot of trouble with dropped balls...Is still raw and relatively new to the game...Let's the ball get into his body too often...Needs to become a better route runner...Won't stretch the field, struggles to separate and he isn't a big play threat...Is not there yet when it comes to identifying coverages...Needs to show better concentration.

Notes:
Did not play football until his junior year of high school...Underwent LASIK surgery on his eyes in the offseason prior to the '06 season to correct his vision in hopes that it would help to eliminate some of the dropped balls that plagued him...Was JaMarcus Russell’s go-to receiver...Seems to be getting better every year and still has a lot of upside...Not as good as Michael Clayton was coming out but is similar.

Pros: A good athlete, with good size, speed, and strength for a WR. Will go up and win jumpballs and wrestling matches with smaller DB's. Hard worker who does his job with little talk or fanfare: a rarity among todays showboats and prima donnas at the WR position. Leads by example. A better route runner than many WR's coming out of college.

Cons: Will likely need time to adjust to the pro game, like the majority of college WR's, especially underclassmen. Doesn't have elite measureables, so may translate to more of a #2 WR in the NFL.



Privé de receveurs, Tom Brady s'est serré la ceinture l'an passé. Ca s'est un peu senti dans sa régularité, et les Patriots n'ont pas été au bout. Cette année, on sent que le staff a pour intention de compenser cette année de disette. L'arrivée de Stallworth reste un plus vu l'état actuel du corps de receveurs à New England, Wes Welker est une option intéressante. Mais avec un 1er tour en bonus, Brady est récompensé pour sa patience, et disposera de tout un arsenal pour s'exprimer pleinement. Et il ne va pas tarder à remercier le staff. D'autant que Meachem a le profil: ferme sa gueule, précis dans ses tracés. Il n'a peut-être pas le plus gros potentiel physique de cette draft, mais les Pats n'ont pas besoin de ça.

Could project to either tackle or guard at the next level and his draft stock will be greatly affected by that ultimate projection...The type who does everything well but nothing great...At the absolute least he will be a valuable backup in the pros and based on how well he played this past season he could be a whole lot more.

Gonzalez is another guy who was overshadowed by college teammates(in his case QB Troy Smith and fellow WR Ted Ginn Jr.) at Ohio State and needed to showcase his talents in the off-season. Gonzalez did not astound at the NFL Combine, but he bounced back with a solid pro day at OSU to put his stock back on the rise. He was thought to be one of the fastest receivers outside of Ginn, but a 4.44 in the 40-yard dash still isn't too shabby. In addition to Gonzalez's solid on-field performances at pro day, Bengals receiver's coach Mike Sheppard said, "He was the best interview at the combine." Gonzalez is also as fundamentally sound as they come. He runs great routes, especially at intermediate distances, has sure hands, and is surprisingly effective at picking up extra yards after contact. Gonzalez progressed each year at Ohio State and should continue to do so at the next level. Such optimism looks like it could warrant a second round pick for Gonzalez.

Le choix est difficle.
Les Bears ont de nombreux besoins, DT, Safety, Receveurs, LineBacker et Oline.
Je pense que c'est un bon choix, il ne fait pas réver mais Joe Staley va renforcer la ligne et la rajeunir.

J'ai hésité à prendre Demarcus Tank Tyler (DT) parce que je persiste à penser que si la D-Line des Bears avait été plus forte (Dommage pour la blessure en fin de saison de Tommie Harris) les RB des colts ne se seraient pas régalés comme ils l'ont fait lors du SB.

Sinon il y a aussi le problème des Line backer avec le départ envisageable de Lance Briggs. Si c'est le cas je choisirais soit Rufus Alexander (OU) soit Stewart Bradley (Nebraska). Ils ne sont pas souvent cités mais il faudra garder un oeil sur eux.

Enfin le poste de Safety mériterait un up-grade et pour ça je pensais à John Wendling. Lui aussi il faut le surveiller.

En Dernière Position, les Colts prennent

Le roster des Colts est POurrriiiiiii... Autant prendre le bon WR qui convient à ce genre d'escouade.
Mieux que l'obscur Philippe Gardent, ce Prospect là va gagner au moins un match de NFL-France en playoffs, pas des pseudos matches avec les Centaures de Flutan-les-Mareuses...

Un complément parfait aussi à l'occasion en "Slash" et peut prendre les Snaps à la place de Peyton Manning, habitué qu'il est à se placer derrière le Centre, mais aussi en RB.

Quelques différents face aux QBs adeptes de la philosophie "Mike Vick" le rende encore plus précieux dans cette organisation.
Il a de plus depuis longtemps réglé ses problèmes de célébrations hasardeuses...
