Mock Draft 2018 : Les picks

Round 1 - Pick N°1 : Cleveland Browns

With the first pick overall, the cleveland Browns select :




Je ne détaille pas.
Je pense que si les Browns gardent le 1rst pick overall, il feront l'erreur de ne pas prendre Barkley, et iront chercher un QB à "développer" derrière Taylor.
Quitte à ne pas tout foirer, autant aller chercher celui considéré comme le meilleur de la cuvée.

Parce que je serai de retour que Lundi prochain et que j'espère qu'on sera aux Panthers...

Avec le Pick 2 : New-York Giants select :



Parce que j'ai un bon souvenir de certains QB de USC, parce que Darnold est bon, qu'il va apprendre cette saison avec manning et qu'il a le profil pour passer de la Californie à New-York.

Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma




Experienced, accurate passer with some improvisational skills. Rarely misses first read at short and intermediate levels and showed flashes of defender manipulation. Threw to a multitude of wide open targets in college and his accuracy noticeably dipped down the field. Has tendency to instantly morph into a runner with pressure mounting.

Coming out of Lake Travis High School, Baker Mayfield had one BCS offer on the table (Washington State) but instead elected to walk on at Texas Tech. He started there as a true freshman before transferring to his dream school and winning the quarterback battle again as a walk-on at Oklahoma. The former Texas prep star emerged onto the scene with his comeback victory at Tennessee in 2015 and took off from there. He finished in the Top 4 of the Heisman Trophy race both of his first two seasons while throwing for a combined 7,665 yards and 76 touchdowns to only 15 interceptions.

Mayfield really put it all together in his final season as a Sooner, winning the school’s sixth Heisman and guiding OU to its second College Football Playoff berth in the past three seasons. In doing so, he threw for an incredible 4,627 yards and 43 touchdowns to only six interceptions, earning him unanimous First-Team All-American honors. Mayfield’s most explosive game came against Bedlam rival Oklahoma State, when he threw for a single-game Oklahoma record of 598 yards in a 62-52 victory. Mayfield famously struggled to rein in his sideline behavior, culminating in a crotch grab at Kansas resulted in having his captain duties and starting spot revoked on Senior Day against West Virginia. With the 6th pick, the Indianapolis Colts select:

CALVIN RIDLEY, WR, CRIMSON TIDE!

Commentaire rapide: Les Colts ont besoin de cibles pour Luck, s'il revient. TY Hilton, c'est le seul nom que je connais chez leurs receveurs.

With the 7th pick, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select :

Denzel Ward, CB, Ohio State.

A l'attaque de l'intersaison, les Bucs avaient 4 gros besoin :
RB, OL, DE et DB

On a signé C Ryan Jensen, DE Jason Pierre-Paul et DE Vinny Curry.

La liste des joueurs pouvant nous intéresser était donc RB Barkley, OG Nelson, DE Chubb et une pléiade de DB.

DE Chubb serait donc le BPA de notre liste, mais on a signé 2 DE, donc, il vaut mieux passer à une autre position.

Pour le poste de RB, on peut récupérer du starter avec un 2-3è tour, sauf que notre 3è tour est parti pour Pierre-Paul.

Il y a aussi une multitude de CB pouvant être titulaire en fin 1er - début 2è tour.

Mon premier choix serait un trade down.
Selon le trade chart, on descend en #10 pour un 3è tour, et en #15 pour un 2è tour.

Ca nous permet de récupérer un Top DB, d'avoir notre RB au 2è tour et de pouvoir améliorer notre OL ou un autre DB avec l'autre pick.

Mais sans trade en place, je partirais sur un pick CB au 1er tour, RB au 2è

Même si on parle beaucoup de S Derwin James à Tampa, un CB a plus de valeur qu'un S pour moi, et le meilleur CB de cette classe, c'est Denzel Ward.
Même si Ward manque de taille et avec Brent Grimes, nous donne 2 petits CB pour la redzone, avoir 2 bons CB devrait nous éviter de donner trop d'opportunités à la Redzone justement.

With the 8th pick, the Chicago Bears select:

MIKE MCGLINCHEY, OT, NOTRE DAME!

Trubisky a besoin de protection. C'est le meilleur tackle de cette draft, qui est pas tip top à ce niveau.
La bonne nouvelle, c'est que son coach de position était à ND avant, familiarité tout ça.

With the 9th pick, the San Francisco 49ers select:

ROQUAN SMITH, LB, GEORGIA!

Un LB pour SF. C'est devenu très nécessaire avec l'autre imbécile de Foster qui prend devient Aldon Smith 2.0.
Pas le mieux gradé de ce groupe, mais le top prospect a quelque chose qui me fait dire qu'il ne conviendra pas: He will make mental mistakes and his instincts are subpar, but he has an ability to mitigate those issues with his athletic ability.
Donc je préfère un mec qui sait jouer le poste correctement qu'un athlète!

With the 10th pick, the Oakland Raiders select :

Bradley Chubb, DE, North Carolina State

Un pass rusher, n'est pas forcément la priorité des Raiders, mais Chubb est clairement le BPA.

La défense des Raiders est le point faible, et un duo Mack-Chubb va faire très mal.

Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA!

Si les Browns prennent Darnold en QB, je pense que les Bills vont faire un trade pour choper Josh Allen. Mais bon, dans la configuration de cette Mock, ils vont se replier sur un autre Need, avec un WR à donner à McCarron

On avance un peu, pour espérer faire au moins la moitié du 1st.

S Derwin James (Florida State)

La priorité de Washington est la défense.

Le run defense a été mauvais l'an dernier, donc un DL comme Vea est une option, mais les Redskins ont perdu CB Breeland et Fuller, donc la signature de Derwin James aiderait le tertiaire et peut-être le remplaçant de Sean Taylor tant attendu

CB Joshua Jackson from Dawson Iowa

La défense aérienne des Packers a été catastrophique, et ils sont perdus leur meilleur DB.

Draft Prospect Outlook:

Electric physical ability and moments of elite-level pocket drifting. Accuracy is good, not great. Flashes of pinpoint ball placement down the field. Flick of the wrist release. Natural runner who reads blocks well and is super explosive.

Le meilleur DT du pool, pour un pure need, ils s'en sortent bien.

Un OL assez agile qui pourrait passer Guard et protéger Russell Wilson mais aussi prolonger la durée de vie des RBs qui s'enchainent un peu trop, je trouve.

Draft Prospect Outlook:


Tall, muscular rebounder who'll instantly be a consistent deep threat in the NFL due to his high-pointing ability and large frame. Deceptive wiggle and quickness after the catch. Great long speed. Round 1 prospect.

Marcus Davenport, DE, Texas-San Antonio





Draft Prospect Outlook:

Tall defensive end with long arms. Explosive in all his movements. Possesses wide array of pass-rushing moves and can win with speed and bend around the corner. Decent point-of-attack strength too. Draft's biggest sleeper.

C - Billy Price - Ohio State.
