Personne sur Terre ne vaut ce prix là, mais on s'en tape, on a comblé notre plus grosse faiblesse, les DB.

Clements et M.Lewis c'est 2 starters immédiat.
2 gros hitters ala Killer Lewis et avec les WR qu'on affronte dans la NFC West ça va nous faire du bien.

On a aussi signé un NT des Ravens, A.Franklin, je ne connais pas mais je fais confiance à Nolan, il l'a cotoyé à Baltimore.

Et quand tu vois l'inflation actuelle des contrats c'est peut etre pas si enorme que ça, Steinbach et Dockery qui font mieux que Hutchinson ça prouve bien l'ecart par rapport à l'an dernier.

Exact! On s'en tape du montant des contrats... C'est pas notre pognon, après tout. De plus, les contrats ne vont jamais à leur terme.
Faut juste qu'ils ne s'endorment pas sur leur tas de billets.

Lelie, 26, did not post great numbers last season after he landed in Atlanta after a trade from the Broncos, but he performed reasonably well in an offense that leaned heavily on the run game. Lelie averaged 15.4 yards on his 28 receptions with one touchdown.

The former first-round pick of the Broncos enjoyed his best season in 2004 when he caught 54 passes for 1,084 yards and seven touchdowns.

Lelie fills a big need for the 49ers at receiver, especially after the team dumped Antonio Bryant last week because Nolan said he "was not the best fit for the 49ers." Coincidentally, Bryant and Lelie are both represented by agent Peter Schaffer of All Pro Sports of Denver.

Ashley Lelie est un semi bust... Dommage pour les 49ers ils auraient pu avoir bien mieux

je suis asez d'accord.
on perd au change par rapport à Bryant! il va falloir drafter un WR haut (meachem? bowe?) pour ça faudra faire un trade up pour avoir deux 1° round choice, comme l'an dernier

Autant j'étais content avec les signatures de Clements et Lewis (surtout Lewis) mais là...
Qu'est-ce qu'on va aller s'emmerder avec un gars comme Lelie?!? confused

Lelie, Lloyd, Stallworth, même combat.
Et c'est pas lui qui va faire peut aux CBs adverses. Bref, on a toujours pas de #1.

sous contrat pour encore 3 ans avec en salaire de base $900K cette saison, $1.4M en 2008 et $1.7M en 2009... pour les bonus aucune idée, niveau cap value j' sais juste que y a $500K de son précédent contrat qui compte pour cette saison!

J'y serais favorable, à ce changement de règle. Pas parce que c'est proposé par les Niners mais parce qu'il n'y a rien que je trouve plus injustifié que de voir une 3è et 10 sur les 40y se transformer en 1st and goal sur la ligne de 1y juste parce qu'un CB a lutté avec le WR pour avoir la meilleure position. D'ailleurs, il me memble en avoir déjà parlé ici, avant...
Ce changement donnerait un bon mix entre la règle universitaire et professionelle... cela dit, j'y crois pas trop. En tout cas pas dès cette année.

--Free-agent linebacker Colby Bockwoldt is getting close to finalizing a deal with the 49ers. New special teams coach Al Everest coached Bockwoldt two seasons with the Saints. Bockwoldt started 23 games in two years with the Saints, but he played almost exclusively on special teams last season with the Titans. He led the Titans with 20 special-teams tackles. The Titans did not tender Bockwoldt as a restricted free agent.

--According to official NFLPA figures, the 49ers were $15.614 million under the salary cap as of yesterday.

--Newly signed defensive end John Syptak will be allocated to NFL Europe. Receiver C.J. Brewer will not be playing in the league, as originally planned.

--A couple former 49ers players signed with clubs this week: WR Derrick Hamilton with the Falcons and CB Sammy Davis with the Bucs.

Matt Maiocco of the Press Democrat says that Frank Gore's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, is seeking the richest contract in the NFL for his client.

Code:: As I reported a couple days ago, Gore is scheduled to earn $435,000 in base pay this season. If backup running back Maurice Hicks signs his one-year tender as a restricted free agent, the 49ers will pay him $850,000. So unless Gore and the 49ers reach a deal for the coming season, Hicks could be making nearly twice as much as Gore.

I've been told that Gore's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has informed the 49ers that he's not signing a deal for anything less than the richest contract in the league. (Rosenhaus has not returned repeated phone calls seeking comment.)

The 49ers need to pay Gore a nice sum of money, but they also can't put themselves in a position where a big contract would come back to haunt them. As much as everyone likes Frank Gore, you also have to consider that last season was the first time since his senior year of high school that he played an entire season without being limited by injuries.

As Maiocco has previously stated, even without a new contract, the 49ers can secure Gore for the next three seasons. Gore is under contract for the upcoming season, Gore will be a restricted free agent in 2008 and the 49ers can hold on to him with a high tender and in 2009, the team can franchise Gore. In 2008 and 2009, the team would receive draft picks as compensation should they lose Gore to another team.

je vois pas trop Briggs etre intéréssé par les niners ou vice versa, c' est un WLB pour la cover 2 je le vois mal dans la déf en 34 des niners!

Je sais que ça peut paraitre bizarre, surtout depuis que Briggs ait dit lui meme qu'il n'etait pas fait pour le systeme 3-4.

Mais l'info ce n'est pas moi qui l'ai inventé, elle vient apparemment de son agent, qui est d'ailleurs le meme que Frank Gore, alors info ou intox ?

According to Lance Briggs' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, who appeared on the "Best Damn Sports Show Period," the San Francisco 49ers are one of three teams that have expressed interest in trading for disgruntled Chicago Bears linebacker.

The other two teams that are interested are the Washington Redskins and the NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks. However, the Bears appear to be unwilling to trade Briggs having locked him up with the franchise tag. Briggs has openly expressed his displeasure about not being able to test the free agent market.

While the interest is there, it appears unlikely that the Bears would allow a trade involving Briggs or they have been very good at denying the possibility. They were unwilling to confirm the interest for Briggs. When asked about trade interest, Seahawks team president Tim Ruskell said, "There's no truth to that whatsoever."

ouais ça sent l' intox, qu' ils s' y intérèssent si ils avaient été libre sur le marché sut été logique avec tous les $$$ du cap dispo mais un trade j' y crois pas une seconde pour un type dont t' es sur de rien dans une déf en 34, en + y a des choix solide niveau prospect via le draft!
