- # Cavs’ LB headed to supp draft… There is a report out of Virginia that former Cavaliers’ MLB Ahmad Brooks, who was booted from the team for unspecified violations of school policy earlier this winter, is likely to apply for the NFL's supplemental draft this summer. Brooks had been thought of as a potential top 5-10 pick for the 2006 draft prior to going through an injury plagued campaign last fall. On the other hand, it appears that there is a chance that CB Tony Franklin could possibly return to the Cavaliers’ lineup this coming season. Like Brooks, Franklin was kicked off the team earlier this year, however, Cavs’ head coach Al Groh has indicated that he hasn't ruled out the possibility that Franklin might play for the Cavaliers again. Franklin, who has one season of eligibility remaining, is on track to graduate next month. Franklin, a three-year starter in the secondary, was one of the Cavaliers' captains in 2005, but was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession in early December and wasn't allowed to practice for or play in the team’s bowl game. Franklin subsequently pleaded guilty to his marijuana charge and received pre-conviction probation.
