| Avec le choix numéro 2, les Houston Texans sélectionnent : Bryce Young QB Alabama Crimson Tide - CBS a écrit:
- Young came in at 5-10 1/8 and weighed 204 pounds at the combine and didn't take part in the drills. But last week he threw at his pro day (we were there for that, too -- see above!) and, like Stroud, showed off the traits that make him so special. He's our QB1 but it's not hard to imagine why, for example, the Panthers might prefer Stroud. If so, the Texans will jump at the chance to land Young here.

| With the 7th pick, Las Vegas Raiders selects : CB Devon Witherspoon (Illinois)Overview Witherspoon is a fun watch but requires evaluators to carefully consider his strengths and weaknesses relative to scheme. He plays with anticipation, route feel and a consistent sense of urgency to prevent catches, as displayed by his high number of pass breakups. He plays with ballhawking eyes and good balance from zone coverage and is very aggressive tackling both after the catch and in run support. There are snaps where he gets behind and stays behind due to a lack of premium speed and closing burst, so he might require help over the top or a more zone-oriented scheme to help him shine. The playmaking mentality and traits give him a solid chance to become a CB2 in the league. Strengths Allowed completion rate of just 34.9% in 2022, per PFF. Impressive route recognition and trigger on the throw. Eyes are probing from off coverages. Well-balanced defending high/low route concepts from zone. Instinctive with 14 pass breakups in 2022. Takes ball-side angles to disrupt the catch point. Zeroes in on receiver’s hands on deep throws. Physical with a striker’s mentality in run support and as tackler versus the pass. Weaknesses Can be jab-stepped off-balance by release fakes. Coverage is very handsy after the first five yards. Sluggish to transition hips and match route breaks from his backpedal. Top-end speed could be an issue at the next level. Lacks juice to make up the distance when he gets behind. Will bite hard on play-action and double moves. | |

| With the 8th pick, Atlanta Falcons selects EDGE Myles Murphy (Clemson)Overview Murphy has excellent size/traits and has been consistently productive in impact categories for three straight years. He plays with a plus motor and good first-step quickness, but his game isn’t really twitchy or explosive. He has finishing talent when he’s inside the pocket, but he needs to vary his rush angles and find an effective inside counter, as NFL tackles will be expecting his long-arm bull-rush technique. Murphy’s length and post-up strength could provide the scheme and positional versatility that puts him on every draft board. The traits and upside are there, but his skill level needs a boost to push the ceiling higher. Strengths NFL size and length for scheme versatility. Gets up the rush track with sudden first step. Long-arm rush move to run tackle into the pocket. Quick to recalibrate his rush after taking an early punch. Uses long strides to escape block redirection around the rush arc. Lateral burst to beat tackles across their face off the snap. Slants into gaps with proper bend and leverage to counter wash-down attempts. Uses spin move to disengage from run blocks. Crashes down hard to spoil the run from back side. Keeps his tank full of gas for pursuit. Weaknesses Doesn’t come up with much of a rush plan to beat tackles. Rides on pass blocks beyond depth of the pocket. Needs to work on adding an inside counter to his bag. Leggy movements can slow momentum as a rusher. Average body control through contact. Below average short-area agility as tackler. Takes him time getting to top speed in pursuit. | |

| With the 10th pick, Philadelphia Eagles selects S Brian Branch (Alabama) Overview Plug-and-play defensive back with every ingredient necessary to become a high-performing starter early in his career. Branch has primarily handled nickel coverage at Alabama but has the range and instincts for single-high or split safety looks. He’s quick, fast and strong with the ability to match up with shifty slots, bigger possession receivers and pass-catching tight ends. He’s urgent and has a mind for the game. He takes playmaking angles into the throwing lane but does have a tendency to play it a little safe from off-man coverage. There are areas where he can improve but no real weaknesses, which could make him one of the safest picks in the draft. Strengths Football intelligence is through the roof. Has range and instincts to play single-high safety. Fast, fluid and very strong for his size. Pedals and transitions with smooth, agile feet. Able to mirror and match patterns from off-man. Reactive quickness and burst to hound the route. Uses ballhawking angles and explosive burst to undercut the pass. Reads receiver’s eyes to cue his head turn downfield. Attacks blockers of all sizes with consistent tenacity. Diagnoses run and pursues runner with proper leverage and angles. Weaknesses Small delay in finding first gear at the top of his drop. Could use tighter route squeeze relative to down and distance. Becomes a drag-down tackler when coming in too high. Occasionally outflanked as run defender from the slot.

| With the 11th pick, The Tennessee Titans select Anthony Richardson - QB - Florida - CBS Analyst a écrit:
- Richardson had his pro day last Thursday and he was impressive. He's built like a defensive end, runs like a power back and can throw the football 80 yards and make it look easy. His athleticism and arm strength leave a lasting impression when you see him in person, as does the effortlessness with which he plays. But what he has in God-given ability he lacks in experience, so his best landing spot at the next level will be to a team with a veteran quarterback who can man the reigns for another year or two until he's ready to take the next step. And if managed properly, that next step could truly be special. (Trade details: TEN gets No. 3 pick; ARI gets picks No. 11 and 41 in 2023 and a 2024 first-rounder).
Draft Scouting Report:
Rating: 91.67 (Long-term starter)
Pro Comparison: Cam Newton
Accolades:
2022: 2,549 pass yards, 654 rush yards, 26 total TD Most athletic QB prospect ever based on NFL Combine results Summary:
Anthony Richardson has off-the-charts athleticism both in the pocket and outside of it, but he is so incredibly raw that he has a long ways to go to be a starting NFL quarterback. He will leave the pocket too early and too often miss open reads to attempt more difficult throws, but when he's locked in he has the potential to be a franchise-altering talent.
Strengths:
Big-bodied athlete who is a threat in the run game Elusive in the open field despite his size; incredibly quick lateral movements to shake defenders in small area* Next-level athleticism for QB in pocket Smooth, ball explodes out of hand and gets on WR in a hurry, accurately Rhythm thrower when he sees coverage Will leave pocket early at times but incredibly elusive inside pocket; ability to buy time with movements and then find open target downfield* Consistently quick release, puts ball on WR's face on quick throws/screens/rollouts Strong arm allows him to make off-platform/off-balance throws almost look easy at times Will look off DB, get through read and rip seam throw on time, on the face. Consistently keeps eyes downfield when outside the pocket Weaknesses:
Can get antsy in pocket when there is no real pressure; needs to do a better job of standing tall Will sometimes drift into pressure on drop Footwork will need to be tightened up at the next level Doesn't consistently throw with anticipation Doesn't happen often but will sometimes try to play hero ball outside pocket; leads to turnover chances for the defense Can also be slow at times to get to second read, leading to turnover opportunities for the defense Will struggle at times to layer throws J'ai beaucoup hésité...

| With the 12th pick, The Houston Texans select Jaxon Smith-Njigba - WR - Ohio State - CBS Analyst a écrit:
- Summary:
Jaxon Smith-Njigba is a smaller, spindly WR with quality fluidity on the field. He's not an elite athlete and doesn't have much power through contact in his routes or after the catch. He creates space with some wiggle and how quicky he flips into top gear once the ball is in his hands. He glides around the field and away from defenders. He also had a knack for reeling in the difficult grab but is not a high-leaping, contested-catch monster; more of a tremendous ball-tracker. He has savvy YAC skills, deceptive speed, and ultra-reliable hands to be a big-time playmaker in the NFL despite not possessing supreme athletic gifts.
Strengths:
Savvy YAC specialty Glides around the field Uncanny ability to flip it into top gear in an instant Ball-tracking downfield is elite Weaknesses:
Not a supreme athlete Spindly frame likely destined for a slot-only role in NFL Lacks length and power Avec cess 2 premiers picks, les Texans pourraient avoir leur duo du futur...

| With the 13th pick, The New York Jets select Peter Skoronski - T - Northwestern - CBS Analyst a écrit:
- The Jets have a lot of questions along the offensive line. By way of his versatility, Peter Skoronski would provide a lot of answers. With Aaron Rodgers headed to town, New York needs to find the best combination of five blockers to protect him. The unanimous All-American would help the team accomplish just that.
Draft Scouting Report:
Rating: 91.60 (All-Pro)
Pro Comparison: Jonah Williams
Accolades:
2022: AP first-team All-American Highest PFF pass block grade in FBS last season (93.0) Summary:
Peter Skoronski is a pass-blocking specialist with an athletic skill set. He needs to add more weight and power to his lower half. He works hard to anchor. He's noticeably more effective as a pass-blocker than a run-blocker. He has plus recovery skill, big-time grip strength, and knows how to reset his hands in pass pro. At times, his hands are late, and that's when he loses, although he rarely lost on passing plays in college. Overall, he's a decently high-floor, high-upside tackle.
Strengths:
Balance and overall pass-pro talent stand out Awesome ability to recover when beaten Very athletic, smooth movements in all areas Outstanding production across multiple seasons Weaknesses:
Lacks normal franchise tackle length Somewhat susceptible to swims Not a dominant run blocker today

| With the 14th pick, New England Patriots selects CB Joey Porter Jr (Penn State)Overview Ascending cornerback combining traits and above average play strength that create a clear definition of who he is as a player. He can reroute the release and has the frame to close catch windows against big receivers in press-man or Cover 2 looks. Delayed transitions and sluggish change of direction put him in conflict in off coverages, so teams must pay attention to matchups and scheme in order to avoid a field full of yellow laundry. There is work to be done to improve tackle consistency in the run game, but he finishes tackles after a catch. Porter has scheme limitations, but he also has CB1 potential with more work and if utilized properly. Strengths Father is a former Pro Bowler and was an undisputed alpha during his playing career. The most physical reroutes in this year’s draft. Smart hand usage helps cover when feet are late. Recovery and length to swat away would-be catches underneath. Closes the catch space when he’s in position. Can win high-point challenges even from trail position. Matchup potential against pass-catching tight ends. Spins sticky tackle web when he gets his hands on receivers. Weaknesses Noticeable delay in transitions from press. Struggles to slide and match release quickness. Not twitchy enough to match a complex route. Too grabby at the top of the route. Needs extra steps to plant and drive from top of his drop. Lacking change-of-direction quickness as open-field tackler. Sources Tell Us “He can’t change direction well but he’s strong and physical, so you put him in press and let him play in the receiver’s pocket all game.”

| With the 15th pick, Green bay Packers selects WR Quentin Johnston (TCU)Overview Height-weight-speed prospect with the physical traits and upside that might have teams willing to overlook some of his inconsistencies on tape. Johnston is a long-striding vertical threat who can open up and separate when allowed to keep his feet moving in space. His elevation and catch radius create an expansive target area down the field, but his overall success rate on contested catches is way lower than it should be for a receiver of his size. Johnston needs a specific route tree, but will improve in that area at the next level. He will benefit from a more accurate deep-ball quarterback, but still feels more like a good WR2 than a high-volume WR1. Strengths Desired blend of size, length and speed outside. Consistent intensity in drive phase, regardless of route depth. Long strides allow him to eat into coverage cushions quickly. Separation speed shows up across the hashes. Should see more touchdown opportunities with a more accurate quarterback. Shows off athleticism once the ball is released. Makes late adjustments to haul in deep throws. Above average catch radius. Weaknesses Production was somewhat erratic. Grabbed just 6 of Max Duggan’s 32 touchdown passes in 2022. Long release steps allow press to tag him. Struggles to create leverage and deception in his routes. Listless getting out of breaks and presenting underneath. Fails to stack and wall-off defenders on deep throws. Doesn’t meet throws with desired arm extension. Inconsistent finishing catches through contact. Sources Tell Us “He’s got some freak (athleticism) in him and will test great, but the hands are a concern for me.” | With the 16th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft The Washington Commanderedskins select : Dalton Kincaid - TE - Utah 6'4 - 246Lbs Move tight end whose premium talent as a pass-catcher will be the primary focus for evaluators. Kincaid is a fluid route runner with the athleticism and play speed to create mismatches against lesser coverage. Impeccable ball skills and sticky hands allow him to tilt 50/50 contested throws in his favor. He lacks the play strength and technique to work in-line, but can handle some positional blocking in space from time to time. Kincaid can manage a more extended route tree, allowing calculating play-callers to open up the entire field and stress coverages. He will need to acclimate to a more physical/athletic brand of coverage, but should blossom into a weapon.

| With the 17th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, The Pittsburgh Steelers Select : Paris Johnson - LT - Ohio State6'6 - 313 Lbs Long, athletic tackle in need of additional technique work but possessing the traits to become a long-time starter on the left side. Johnson is still filling out his frame and he should get stronger. He’s much better as a move blocker than man blocker but he can bridge that gap with more coaching. He’s loose and quick in pass protection but will need to add core strength and get better with inside hands to prevent edge defenders from bypassing his anchor. Johnson’s athletic tools and position versatility are advantageous but the going could be a little bumpy early on before he settles in.

| With the 18th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, The Detroit Lions Select : Calijah Kancey - DL - Pittsburgh - CBS Analyst a écrit:
- Calijah Kancey is a short, undersized, electric upfield rusher. If he has any space, look out. He's ultra twitchy and Can sustain speed once he's in the backfield. His arm over, swipe, and rip are locked and loaded in the pass-rush move arsenal. He can lean on first-step eruption to win against half a blocker. At times, his style takes him out of a play and can even open a big rushing lane. Losses are mostly to bigger maulers and can be ugly. He constantly battles. Even if he loses initially, he'll fight to make the most of the rep. Length is a clear issue, but his Power is deceptive because of a low center of gravity. Counters are super-quick. For teams looking for a pure one-gap penetrator and is not too concerned with size deficiency, this is the premier prospect to target in this class.
Strengths:
Exemplifies explosiveness Loaded pass-rush move arsenal Motor is revving every play Battles against bigger blockers Loads of productivity in college Weaknesses:
Size and especially length are major deficiencies At times his ultra-aggressive style takes him out of a play Losses in the run game can be ugly

| With the 19th pick, Tampa Bay Buccaneers selects OT Broderick Jones (Georgia)Overview Ultra-athletic tackle prospect with the size, length and potential to develop into a plus starter on the left side. Jones’ frame and technique both are in the developmental phase. His entry into block fits can be a little disjointed. He needs to improve his punch accuracy and timing to make the most of his length in pass protection. Jones is very talented at working into space and landing a block to help spring the running game. He has the nimble feet to mirror or recover against the rush. Jones isn’t a finished product, but the physical and athletic gifts allow for a projection as a good, long-time starter. Strengths Former high school basketball player with premium athletic qualities. Drives hands into defender with upward strike. Rips outside hand through pads to corral and move opponent. Should be able to make all the blocks for zone and power. Body control to adjust to moving targets. Has length necessary to improve punch timing. Recognizes twist attempts quickly. Possesses loose hips and quick feet for recoveries. Weaknesses Less than two full seasons of starting experience at left tackle. Needs to keep his chin tucked and back flat in protection. Punch comes from outside angles and is slow to stick the rusher. Gives early ground when challenged by power rush. Doesn’t fit up run blocks in one, fluid motion. Will need to improve play strength as a pro. Tends to duck head and lose sight into first contact.

| With the 20th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks Select Darnell Washington - TE - Georgia 6'7 - 264 Lbs 40 yards Dash : 4.64 Washington projects as an in-line traditional Y tight end. He’s an outstanding asset on running downs due to his blocking prowess. Washington works in both gap and zone-blocking schemes. He possesses upside as a pass-catcher with more opportunities and targets. I believe to get the best out of him, his routes should be attacking the seams and across the middle of the field off hard play-action. He is a zone-beater that can find soft spots to settle into. Washington does bring outstanding potential in the red zone as a blocker and receiver. He has the potential to develop into a reliable passing option and TE1 for an offense, but a TE2 at worst.

| With the 21th pick, Los Angeles Chargers selects DT Bryan Breese (Clemson)Overview Burly but athletic interior tackle who plays with a strong desire to get past the man in front of him. Bresee rarely gets caught up in long block engagements and possesses a deep anchor to battle double teams. He operates with subtle hand fighting that helps puts pressure on blockers but currently lacks the rush sophistication and shed technique to make more plays in the backfield. If he can stay healthy and gain much-needed experience, Bresee should continue to progress at his position and become a good run defender with an ability to disrupt the pocket within his first few NFL seasons. Strengths Broad but athletic build. Plays instinctive football in tight quarters. Processes blocking scheme and attacks with smart hands. Takes long, loose strides to defeat reach blocks laterally. Can withstand double teams and keep the gap snug. Plays past blocker with his eyes and focus. Maintains his run fits against move blocks. Moving target as interior rusher. Stutter-steps and strikes with altered pace. Pocket-pusher when he gets the jump. Weaknesses College production does not jump off the page. Will slip block and lose gap leverage at times. Range as a tackle-maker is average. Rush approach is linear and unsophisticated. Unable to flip hips and get skinny around the edge. Suffered ACL tear in September 2021 and had shoulder surgery in January 2022.

- They can take Torrence and play him at left guard to give them one of the biggest lines in the NFL. Torrence might be the best offensive lineman in this class. He could also play right tackle if they let Cam Robinson go in 2024 and move Walker Little to the left side.
Draft Scouting Report:
Rating: 89.12 (Long-term starter)
Pro Comparison: Kevin Dotson
Accolades:
2022: AP first-team All-American Career: 0 sacks allowed in 1,427 pass block snaps Summary:
O'Cyrus Torrence is a huge, wide-bodied guard with plus athleticism for a blocker his size. His athleticism allows him to be of utility at the second level and on any type of blocks that involve lateral quickness. He has quality second-level accuracy, too. He needs to play with a tick more patience, but his body type, strength, and athleticism make him a very appealing guard prospect.
Strengths:
Intimidating, big-bodied frame Serious point-of-attack power Deceptively quick with high-end athleticism for a guard of his size Calm nature in pass protection Weaknesses:
Not always the most balanced in pass pro, clearly has more development to go in that phase of the game More of a hugger than a bench-press type, would like to see him utilize his immense length to his advantage more frequently Le meilleur IOL de la promo, un choix solide des Jags...
