Mock Draft 2021 : les picks

Avec le 24e choix de la draft 2021, les Pittsburgh Steelers choisissent:

EDGE / JAYSON OWEH / Penn St

Les Steelers ont beaucoup (trop) de besoins. Ils viennent de perdre Dupree et donc tiennent son remplaçant avec ce pick.

Avec le 25ème choix les Jacksonville Jaguars choisissent

WR - Terrace MARSHALL Jr (LSU)




Alors, il y'avait plusieur choix ici, donc Safety, Edge ou Offensive Tackle
mais c'est comme à Cincy, on drafte un QB on lui donne des armes.
Et comme il y'a Cam Robinson en O-Line, je penche pour le receveur.
Et comme je reste encore sur l'émerveillement LSU 2019, je chois le 3ème larron.

Avec le 26e choix, les Cleveland Browns choisissent:

Rover / JEREMIAH OWUSU-KORAMOAH / Notre Dame

Un hybride LB/Safety parfait pour une défense qui ne pourra que se bonifier. Puis il a le bon gout de porter le même prénom que mon gamin, un plus pour lui.

Avec le 27ème choix les Baltimore Ravens choisissent :

EDGE Azeez Ojulari / Georgia

HEIGHT 6' 3"  WEIGHT 240



PFF : Ojulari was one of the biggest risers with his play in 2020. He's the best pure speed rusher in the class and will threaten the edge against even the most athletic tackles in the league. He finished his redshirt sophomore season with a 91.7 pass-rushing grade.
CBS : The Ravens lost two edge players in free agency in Yannick Ngakoue (Raiders) and Matt Judon (Patriots). They have to come out of this draft with some edge help. Ojulari could end up being the best of this edge group.

With the 28th pick, New Orleans Saints selects : TE Pat Freiermuth (Penn State)



Overview
Big, athletic tight end with the potential to be a combo player at the position, helping as a run blocker and pass catcher. Freiermuth needs to tighten up his technique as a run blocker but his foot quickness and agility led to some splashy recoveries and block finishes that foreshadow his future potential. He's athletic and has good build-up speed down the seam to attack the second level. However, he's average in separating underneath. Will need to do a better job of accessing his basketball background and putting a body on defenders to "block out" and create space for the throw. He'll need to have his season-ending injury vetted, but he has Day 2 talent for teams looking to bolster their 12 personnel package or add production from their Y tight end.


C'est un peu reach, c'est un peu du favoritisme, Baby Gronk étant un des mes chouchous de cette draft.

Après la plupart des mocks le voit en 1ere partie 2è tour, donc c'est pas déconnant pour s'assurer un TE, sachant qu'il y en a pas beaucoup éligibles au 2-3è tour.

Freiermuth a du Gronk en lui, et les Saints se sont fais sortir des PO à cause de TE Jared Cook.
Cook non conservé, Hill passant en QB, les Saints n'ont plus beaucoup d'options à ce poste, et avec Kamara en RB et Thomas en WR, il leur manque cette 3è cible.

New Orleans peut aussi aller sur un DT (Nixon), un LB (Davis ou Bolton, j'aime aussi beaucoup Owusu, mais il vient de partir à Cleveland), un CB (Fairley) ou un WR (Moore)

With the 29th pick, the Green Bay Packers select :

CB Caleb Farley  • VIRGINIA TECH

HEIGHT 6' 2" WEIGHT 207 lbs



PFF : He's got the size and speed part of the position down pat and was pretty darn good at the coverage part when we last saw him in 2019. He allowed a passer rating of only 26.8 that season.

CBS 1 : There are concerns over Farley's back surgery but some teams are in a position to compete now and might be willing to take on more of a risk. Green Bay is a team that makes sense to bring Farley in. He is a top 10 caliber player.
CBS2 : Farley was our CB1 until he underwent a back procedure several weeks ago. His camp says he'll be ready in time for the season. If he's healthy, the Packerss could find one of the best players in this draft class at the bottom of Round 1.

With the 30th pick, Buffalo Bills selects : EDGE Jaelan Phillips (Miami)



Overview
Edge defender with plus physical attributes and a motor that keeps him working and attacking throughout the rep. Philips might have the combination of length and athleticism that would allow teams to look at him with a hand on the ground or standing depending on his weight. Adding play strength will be important so that he can stack it up when setting the edge as a run defender in the league. He's a slippery-limbed pass rusher with good first-step quickness, which bodes well for his future rush success if he gets better with his hands and learns a go-to counter. He has a shot at becoming a solid future starter along the edge if his medicals pan out.

Peu de besoins pour les Bills, avec 4.6yds/run accordés l'an dernier et Hughes et Addisson à plus de 32 ans, on va améliorer la DL.

Dans une draft, où il y a pas vraiment de DL qui ressort, mais beaucoup qui sont entre les pick 20 et 50, compliqué de trouver le bon joueur.

Phillips est assez complet, il devrait commencer sur le banc pour sa première saison, mais devrait gagner progressivement du temps de jeu

Avec le 31e choix, les Kansas City Chiefs choisissent

Sam Cosmi / T / Texas

Les Chiefs savent que s'ils ne savent pas protéger Mahomes, ils sont dans la merde. Voilà un gars qui pourra aider.

With the 32th pick, the Superbowl Champions Tampa Bay Buccaneers selects : DT Levi Onwuzurike (Washington)



Overview
Considered by some scouts as a "flash" prospect with high-end moments on tape, but a lack of sustained excellence and production. Onwuzurike is undersized for his position but he’s very strong for his size with the ability to anchor down against interior blockers. He's very physical and flashes moments where he is able to control and overwhelm single blocks. An explosive first step provides early momentum into the neutral zone, but he failed to post the high-end production that is usually associated with that interior trait. He's light on his feet but heavy with his hands, and that combination should lead to continued improvement as an NFL pass rusher. If he can play with the same grit we saw against Oregon and USC in 2019, Onwuzurike has a chance to become a disruptive starter in an attacking front.


Tampa Bay fait revenir sa défense entière (on ne perd que 23 snaps de l'an dernier) et on fait revenir 15 des 16 joueurs offensifs qui ont le plus joués, et Antonio Brown peut encore resigner.

Tampa Bay a donc 0 need immédiat, vu qu'il garde l'équipe championne quasi inchangé, on peut donc se concentrer sur le BPA ou préparer le futur, et même là on a un effectif jeune.

Les postes à cibler sont le EDGE, car on manque de depht et préparer l'après JPP et le DT pour l'après Suh.
On peut prendre un QB, mais il semble peut vraisemblable qu'un top 5 tombe si bas.

Mais comme pour mes autres picks, vu la faiblesse de cette draft, ma première option serait le trade down, pour récupérer du pick et/ou un pick de l'an prochain.

Mais s'il faut choisir, je prendrais en priorité un EDGE (mais les Paye, Ojulari ou Phillips) que je ciblerais au 1er tours sont partis, et il reste beaucoup de EDGE de niveau équivalent pour le 2è tour.

Mon choix va donc sur le DT Onwuzurike, dont on a la chance d'avoir son ancien coéquipier à Washington Vita Vea, ca permet une bonne intégration.

Onwuzurike me fait penser à Gerald McCoy, avec un très bon premier pas, et il peut amener ce pass-rush inside qu'il nous manque un peu.
